Passion
“My passion for migration began when I was studying Cultural Anthropology at university, researching immigrants from Zeeland (The Netherlands) in Brazil. I have made emigration advice and immigration procedures my work since 1986. For five years I helped many Dutch people move country on behalf of the National Emigration Service. As a consultant, I informed them about living and working in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA. One great perk in that job was that I was able to visit all those countries, something I still enjoy doing regularly. I also spent more than two years working as a Visa Officer at the Canadian Embassy in The Hague, where I actually made final decisions on visa applications.”

Own company
“I founded my own migration agency in 1993. With that I have developed into a real visa specialist for Canada, the USA and ‘Down Under’. My team and I have helped many migrants from all over the world to reach the country of their dreams. And since December 2005 I have been a full member of the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC), a guarantee of expertise and professionalism and compulsory for agents dealing with the country’s immigration authorities.”

Kick
“I still really enjoy my work. It gives me a kick every time I succeed in ‘translating’ somebody’s background into the terms of the immigration rules. That is a matter of expertise, not to mention some creativity. A combination which gives me great satisfaction. And at the same time an approach which makes a real difference for our customers, the difference between whether or not they obtain a visa. They want to make their dream come true on the other side of the world. I love smoothing the way for their achievement of that dream.”
