Entrepreneur and investor visas
Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand all operate so-called ‘entrepreneur visa’ and ‘investor visa’ schemes. To qualify for one of these, you must possess investment capital and/or demonstrable business and management skills.
Business plan
In addition to meeting the standard entry requirements, to qualify for an entrepreneur visa or equivalent for the United States, New Zealand or Australia you must submit a full business plan. It is vital to the success of your application that you present your knowledge and experience as an entrepreneur or investor effectively. That presentation has to comply with the stringent requirements of immigration law.
Prior investment
As well as meeting the entry requirements and submitting a business plan, the United States and – sometimes – New Zealand require that you make a prior investment. To help you comply with this criterion, Buysse Immigration works closely with specialists in investment and business acquisition (including franchises). Not only does this help you with your application, it also validates the viability of your plans.
Capital requirements for investors
An ‘investor visa’ is granted on the basis that your capital will remain invested in the destination country for a minimum period, subject to conditions defined in the immigration law of the country in question. The investor visa for Canada, New Zealand and US are permanent visa.

Capital requirements for Entrepreneur
In the first instance, an entrepreneur visa is temporary. Only once you have demonstrated that you have set up a viable business can it be converted into a permanent visa. The exception to this rule is Visa E2 for the United States: that always remains temporary.
